Buffalo, NY-based Austin Air Systems manufactures portable air filters, such as the Healthmate Plus, which uses a 60 sq. ft. of true, medical-grade HEPA technology combined with up to 15 lbs. of activated carbon, potassium iodide-impregnated carbon, and zeolite to protect against nuclear, biological, and chemical agents. Austin Air filters also help remove mold spores and mycotoxins that can result after flooding. And the units help remove the particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, benzenes, chemicals, gases, and odors often present in wildfire areas. Our Credentials Austin Air is the only air cleaner company to partner with research organizations, such as Johns Hopkins University, to conduct clinical trials on our products. In government tests, Austin Air outperformed more than 100 other air purifiers. Because of this, FEMA and the American Red Cross chose Austin during some of America’s most challenging times, including 9-11, Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, and the 2015 SoCal gas leak in California. In 2003, the United States government planned to destroy part of its stockpile of chemical weapons in Anniston, Alabama. In case hazardous materials were released into the environment, Austin Air cleaners were placed in more than 28,000 Anniston homes to protect residents in the event of a chemical disaster. Today, Austin Air remains the original maker of high-end filtration systems. Sold in more than 100 countries, we maintain the largest air cleaner manufacturing facility in the world, at 480,000 square feet.
